North Sumatra Governor Muhammad Bobby Afif Nasution announced plans to build a boarding tourism vocational school in Samosir Regency. The government will cover all education costs to support Lake Toba tourism development.
Bobby made the statement on July 7 while attending the 20th National Working Meeting and the 19th anniversary of Punguan Simbolon Dohot Boruna Indonesia at Hotel Aryaduta in Jakarta.
The school will use a boarding system focusing on academic education as well as character building and discipline. "The scheme is boarding and all costs are covered by the government, not only learning materials but also students' mental readiness," Bobby said.
Construction has now entered the building phase after planning documents were completed. The Samosir Regency government has provided land for the project. "The land has been prepared, we just need to build. The DED is also finished," he said.
