The Ministry of Religious Affairs proposed allocating Rp9.6 trillion from the 2027 indicative ceiling to improve the welfare of religious education teachers. Minister Nasaruddin Umar presented the proposal during a working meeting with Commission VIII of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the Minister of Religious Affairs explained that total PKPN support allocations reached Rp19.08 trillion. Of that amount, Rp9.6 trillion is directed toward incentives and professional allowances for non-civil servant teachers and lecturers, including special allowances in 3T regions. Kemenag also proposed Rp3.71 trillion for the Indonesia Smart Program and KIP Kuliah. The working meeting concluded with the signing of conclusions accepted by Commission VIII of the House of Representatives. Lawmakers will conduct further review together with Echelon I officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs to ensure accountability of the budget for public services.
