Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, known as Cak Imin, has requested an additional Rp1 trillion budget from President Prabowo Subianto to support MSMEs and the creative economy.
Cak Imin made the statement after meeting President Prabowo at Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. He affirmed the government's commitment to strengthening MSMEs through marketing facilities and people's business credit.
Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf, or Gus Ipul, reported that the government has removed more than 11,000 families receiving social assistance who were found to be involved in online gambling in the first quarter of 2026. The figure has dropped sharply compared to the previous year.
Cak Imin also outlined the government's target to reduce national poverty to 7.36 percent and extreme poverty to zero percent by the end of 2026. A total of 88 districts and cities have been prioritized for poverty eradication.
The government will continue to use the National Socio-Economic Single Data to ensure social assistance reaches the right targets, including energy subsidies.
