Restaurant owners in Dalarna rushed to hire extra staff ahead of Sweden’s World Cup match against France on Tuesday evening.
Jacob Aurell-Dahlberg in Borlänge managed to gather over 20 new staff members in just three days. He describes the process as intense with many phone calls.
Several bars in the region upgraded their permits and handled technical issues to show the match that starts at 23:00. Sara Afram at Hotel Riverside in Avesta upgraded from 80 to 160 seats after turning away guests during Sweden’s first match.
Fredrik Fernström at Freds Burger in Leksand notes that hundreds of guests have visited the restaurant with its 13 screens. He sees the event as a positive boost for many bars after tough years.
