Brown Mogotsi accused of pressuring neighbour over police statement

The state has accused Brown Mogotsi of attempting to intimidate his neighbour into altering a police statement. The claim arose during proceedings related to his bail application. The case was postponed until 29 June for a decision on the application.

State prosecutor Advocate Thami Mpekana alleged that Mogotsi tried to pressure neighbour Thandiwe Senokwane to change her statement on 5 June 2026. This occurred one day after an earlier bail denial linked to conflicting details about his residence.

Mpekana also disputed WiFi records presented by the defence. He noted that the documents did not include Mogotsi or his wife Dorothy Lekhoaba as listed users.

Magistrate Annalise Thlapi questioned the records further. She observed that they only reflected debit orders ending the previous year. The defence offered limited additional support for claims about Mogotsi’s address.
