BTS launches Busan shows for Arirang world tour

K-pop group BTS will begin its Busan leg of the Arirang world tour with shows on Friday and Saturday. The performances at Busan Asiad Main Stadium are expected to draw around 110,000 fans combined, and tickets have sold out.

BTS began the tour in April at Goyang Stadium with three shows before heading overseas. The group has since performed in Tokyo, Tampa, El Paso, Mexico City, Stanford and Las Vegas, attracting roughly 840,000 fans across 15 North American shows.

The Busan concerts mark the group's first performance in the city in more than three years since the Yet to Come in Busan concert in October 2022. The second night coincides with the band's 13th debut anniversary and will be broadcast live in about 3,800 movie theaters across more than 80 countries.

Team leader RM said he was very happy to perform again in his home country after about two months. Suga recalled the cheers from the previous concert in Busan, while Jimin and Jungkook highlighted the special meaning of hometown shows.

Alongside the concerts, BTS will run the BTS The City Arirang Busan cultural project through June 21. The world tour is scheduled to run through March next year with 86 shows in 34 cities.
