'Arirang' earned 187,000 units, down 71% from its debut week's 641,000—the biggest week of 2026 so far. Breakdown includes 114,000 from physical and digital sales, 65,000 from streaming equivalent albums (SEA), and the rest from track equivalent albums (TEA). Released March 20, the 14-track album explores BTS's Korean roots and universal emotions, marking the group's seventh No. 1 debut (following Love Yourself: Tear, Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona, Map of the Soul: 7, Be, and Proof) and eighth overall No. 1, tying Stray Kids for the most by a K-pop act.
This is the 23rd K-pop album or EP to hit No. 1 since BTS's Love Yourself: Tear in 2018; others include ATEEZ (two), BLACKPINK, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, NewJeans, TWICE, and SuperM (one each). The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack had two non-consecutive weeks at No. 1. K-pop No. 1s have appeared annually since 2018 except 2021, with five in 2023. Lead single 'Swim' debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100. The Billboard 200 ranks top U.S. albums by equivalent units from sales, TEA, and SEA.
