The broader tourism picture also softened. LVCVA statistics show Las Vegas hosted about 38.5 million visitors in 2025, a 7.5% decline from 2024.
Some political leaders and tourism stakeholders have tied the Canadian decline to broader cross-border frictions and travel sentiment. However, publicly available LVCVA visitor totals and market-by-market counts do not, by themselves, establish that tariffs were the direct cause of the drop.
Separately, while the LVCVA publishes historical visitation series dating back to 1970, available summaries reviewed for 2025 do not support the claim that 2025 was the “worst non-pandemic year” since 1970.
The LVCVA data cited in those reports indicate Canada remained the largest single source of international visitors to Las Vegas in 2025 despite the decline.
