Cbe governor attends future leaders graduation at ebi

Hassan Abdalla, governor of the Central Bank of Egypt and chairperson of the Egyptian Banking Institute, attended the graduation ceremony for four new cohorts of the Future Leaders programme at the EBI. The event included deputy governors and board members, marking the graduation of 93 young banking professionals. Abdalla expressed pride in the programme, launched three decades ago to nurture sector talent.

The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), hosted a graduation ceremony for cohorts 32, 33, 34, and 35 of the Future Leaders programme, with 93 young banking professionals completing the intensive training. Attendees included Hassan Abdalla, CBE governor and EBI chairperson; Rami Aboulnaga, deputy governor for monetary stability; Tarek ElKholy, deputy governor for banking stability and EBI board member; Abdel Aziz Nossier, EBI executive director; along with board members and senior banking executives, human resources, and training leaders from the sector.

Abdalla expressed pride in participating in the graduation of these new cohorts from the Future Leaders programme, one of the EBI's flagship initiatives launched three decades ago. He highlighted the institute's pivotal role in nurturing and empowering young professionals in Egypt's banking sector. The governor reaffirmed the CBE's commitment to prioritizing human capital as the cornerstone of the sector's growth, noting recent initiatives like the Bachelor of Banking Sciences programme at several Faculties of Commerce, set to start in the 2025/2026 academic year—Egypt's first undergraduate degree of its kind.

Abdel Aziz Nossier emphasized the EBI's efforts to enhance the programme through advanced training methodologies and modern assessment tools. He stated that it equips participants with leadership and technical skills to drive transformation in an evolving banking landscape. The curriculum is regularly updated, integrating theoretical and practical modules in banking sciences, leadership, and financial technology (FinTech), and includes international site visits to leading global financial institutions to adapt best practices to the Egyptian context.

Established in 1991 by a CBE decree, the EBI applies international best practices to develop technical and managerial skills in the financial sector. The programme has produced hundreds of graduates who now hold influential positions in Egypt's banking institutions, reflecting the institute's success in building a sustainable base of professional talent for sectoral growth and innovation.
