The Central Bureau of Investigation searched Renukai Chemistry Classes in Latur, Maharashtra, on 17 May 2026. The move targets the institute linked to alleged matches between its mock tests and the leaked NEET UG 2026 paper. Owner Shivraj Motegaonkar was questioned earlier in the week.
A CBI team searched the headquarters of Renukai Chemistry Classes in Latur’s Shivnagar area on Sunday afternoon. Officers examined documents, computers and electronic devices after reports that 42 chemistry questions circulated by the institute matched portions of the leaked NEET UG 2026 paper.
Owner Shivraj Motegaonkar was questioned for over 10 hours on Friday at his residence and again on Sunday at the CBI office in Pune. Investigators are also examining his past links with arrested chemistry professor PV Kulkarni, who once taught at the institute.
The centre began in 1999 with 10 students and now enrols about 40,000 aspirants across Maharashtra with an annual turnover exceeding Rs 100 crore. Separate raids have taken place in Nanded and Nashik as the agency widens its probe into the network.
