A Delhi court on Tuesday dismissed the bail plea of Manisha Waghmare, a key accused in the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case.
Special Judge Ajay Gupta of Rouse Avenue Courts rejected the plea in a 12-page order. The court described Waghmare as an active conspirator in an organised paper leak gang who circulated the paper for money. The court noted that Waghmare provided guess papers matching the NEET questions to teachers and parents. It added that she attempted to destroy incriminating material before her arrest. The Central Bureau of Investigation opposed the bail. It cited statements from students and bank transaction records linking Waghmare to the conspiracy involving P.V. Kulkarni and others. The court said the investigation is at a nascent stage. It warned of risks that evidence could be destroyed or witnesses influenced if bail were granted.
