President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo gathered officials and experts on July 20, 2026, to discuss protection of digital rights for children and adolescents in Mexico.
At the morning press conference, Sheinbaum invited Public Education Secretary Mario Delgado, Undersecretary Ricardo Villanueva, UNESCO representative Andrés Morales Arciniegas and psychologist Cimenna Chao Rebolledo.
The group addressed the need to ensure technology use is pedagogically appropriate and compatible with minors' development, without absolute bans.
Villanueva presented international examples of school regulations. Authorities announced regional forums with input from teachers, parents, psychologists and children to design protection schemes.
Morales stressed measures that protect without restricting connectivity rights.
