Converge announce second album of 2026, Hum of Hurt

Boston metalcore band Converge has announced Hum of Hurt, their second album this year, due out on June 5. The record draws inspiration from The Hum, a mysterious low-frequency sound heard by only 4% of the world's population. The band shared the title track and detailed an upcoming tour starting today.

Converge released Love Is Not Enough in February, marking their first non-collaborative album in eight years. Now, just months later, they prepare to drop Hum of Hurt. As first reported by Pitchfork, the band has shared the title track for fans to stream ahead of the June 5 release date. The tracklist includes tracks such as Slip The Noose, Doom In Bloom, and Hum Of Hurt among ten songs total. The album's concept stems from The Hum. Vocalist Jacob Bannon pondered in a press statement: “What if ‘The Hum’ is the culmination of all the pain in the world, creating an audible signal across the universe?” Converge clarified that Hum of Hurt is not a sequel to Love Is Not Enough. It originated from their desire to produce a noise-rock record during sessions for the prior album, which ultimately leaned toward metal. The band launches a North American tour today, April 2, at House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. Stops include Chicago, Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, and more through mid-May, followed by European festival dates in late June and July.
