Australian designer Edward Cuming showed his Spring 2027 ready-to-wear collection at his Paris showroom. The line, titled Calm Down, aimed for a quieter approach than his usual bold style.
Cuming drew inspiration from a photograph of Italian designer Lina Bo Bardi’s Brazilian home. He incorporated interior textiles such as creamy damask, shimmering jacquard, and linen with metallic threads.
The collection mixed structured gray wool suiting with wilder elements including shaggy zebra prints and an orange tiger graphic t-shirt. A standout look featured a Corvette red cupro slip dress layered under filmy gray fabric to create a hazy purple effect.
Cuming’s signature Circle Shirt appeared with fully finished edges for a more precise result. The showroom displayed the looks in separate sections of neutrals, tailoring, and bolder pieces.
He noted the effort to mute intense colors and pursue something more controlled while still retaining his improvisational touch.
