A four-year-old girl died in a drowning accident at Lögarängsbadet in Västerås on Friday evening. She disappeared around 19:30 and was found by divers shortly before 21:00.
The girl was taken to hospital after being found but the death was confirmed around 23:00. Police say she is believed to have fallen into the water and drowned.
– She fell into the water and drowned, says Anders Holm, commander at the control centre in police region Mitt.
The incident is described as a tragic accident. There are no suspicions of crime in the case and relatives have been informed.
