Mercedes driver George Russell led final practice for the Austrian Grand Prix on Saturday. He edged out team-mate and championship leader Kimi Antonelli by 0.038 seconds. Lewis Hamilton placed third for Ferrari.
The session took place in hot conditions at the Red Bull Ring, with temperatures above 30C. Russell set a lap of 1m07.096s in the closing minutes to claim the top spot.
Antonelli had led much of the running with a 1m07.134s time before Russell improved late on. The Italian driver was unable to respond after losing time in the first two sectors.
Hamilton posted 1m07.211s for third place, ahead of McLaren pair Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. Max Verstappen finished sixth in the upgraded Red Bull.
Charles Leclerc ended seventh for Ferrari after locking up at Turn 3. Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad both reached the top 10.
