Several major Swedish websites went down on Thursday due to an outage at Amazon Web Services.
The issues hit TV4’s news site, TV4 Play and Fotbollskanalen among others. Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet, ATG and Danske Bank’s app were also affected.
Viaplay stated the disruption stemmed from AWS CloudFront. The service reported early signs of improvement by 13:30.
IT security specialist Karl-Emil Nikka said similar outages occur roughly once a year. He stressed there were no indications of an attack.
