Lewis Hamilton has raised doubts about joining the Lego drivers' parade at this weekend's British Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion made his comments on Thursday ahead of the event at Silverstone.
Hamilton said he does not know whether he will take part in the Lego car. "I don’t know whether or not I’ll be in the Lego car this year," he stated when asked about his plans. He added that the reasons were something he needed to discuss privately.
Lego has built 22 go-karts from 28,000 blocks each for the parade lap. The 25 km/h vehicles were designed with input from all 11 teams and follow a similar activation that debuted at last year's Miami Grand Prix. Most drivers have welcomed the idea, though Max Verstappen has also voiced opposition.
The drivers' parade forms part of the compulsory pre-race ceremony. Ferrari has indicated Hamilton will join his colleagues on home soil before an expected crowd of 175,000 spectators.
