Independent designer Rishi Assar has joined forces with Heron Preston’s L.E.D. Studio on a furniture capsule made from reclaimed New York City street signs. The pieces debuted at Lichen and feature chairs and stools crafted from authentic municipal signage.
The collection repurposes actual Department of Transportation infrastructure into functional seating. Each item draws from real traffic signs once used to direct vehicles and pedestrians across the city, including stop signs, school crossing notices, and speed limit markers that retain their weathered appearance.
