Hong Kong's Travel Industry Authority revoked tour guide Siu Man-chung's licence on Friday after he pressured mainland Chinese visitors into shopping on tours between February and April.
The Travel Industry Authority said it took the disciplinary action under the Travel Industry Ordinance. The authority stated that Siu made inappropriate remarks that damaged the reputation of Hong Kong's tourism industry. This marks the second such action by the authority in less than two months. The authority reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards coerced shopping and stressed that licensees must adhere to professional conduct.
