Chilean presidential candidate Jeannette Jara took part on Thursday in an international forum in Sao Paulo organized by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
Jara, who arrived in Brazil on Wednesday, spoke at the event “A saída é pela esquerda” that brings together representatives from 26 countries to discuss strategies against the advance of the far right.
Participants include Catarina Martins from Portugal, Verónika Mendoza from Peru and Clara Bünger from Germany, as well as Recoleta mayor Fares Jadue.
The former minister also joined virtually the presentation of the book La derecha vasalla in Buenos Aires, where she criticized a remark by President José Antonio Kast on academic research.
Jara will later travel to Colombia at the invitation of the Pacto Histórico party ahead of the presidential elections on May 31.
