American Ballet Theatre held its Spring Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street this week, honoring longtime supporter Katie Holmes. The event also previewed artistic director Susan Jaffe’s new staging of Don Quixote ahead of its season debut at the Metropolitan Opera House.
The black-tie gala marked the 20th anniversary of ABT’s designation as the country’s National Ballet Company by an act of Congress. Guests arrived at 6:30 p.m. for cocktails in a hall decorated in the rich pinks, reds, and golds of the ballet’s romantic palette. Designers including Zac Posen and Bach Mai joined performers and supporters from fashion and the arts.
