Man arrested for threatening ex with centavo pix in Goiás

Goiás Civil Police arrested a man in flagrante for threatening his ex-partner through Pix transfers of R$0.01 with intimidating messages. The incident took place in Aparecida de Goiânia, where the victim holds an urgent protective order against the accused. In addition to the financial threats, he would turn off her home's power at night to scare her.

In Aparecida de Goiânia, in the Goiânia metropolitan area, Goiás Civil Police (PCGO) carried out the flagrante arrest of a man on Monday, March 2, for crimes related to domestic violence. The accused, who refused to accept the end of the relationship, had been pursuing his ex-partner in various ways.

The victim reported to the police that she received Pix transfers worth only 1 centavo, used solely to include threatening descriptions. This method allowed the man to bypass restrictions, sending intimidating messages directly through the banking system. Additionally, he would disconnect the power supply to her home during the early morning hours, aiming to instill fear and discomfort.

Even though the woman held an urgent protective order issued by the court, the individual continued to approach her and disregarded the judicial mandate. The PCGO responded to the victim's complaint, leading to the suspect's immediate detention.

The man was charged with the offenses of threat, stalking, and violation of a protective order within the context of domestic violence. The case underscores the challenges in enforcing court orders in situations of violence against women, though no further details on the couple's history or subsequent legal outcomes are available in the reports.
