A man in his 30s was shot dead late on Wednesday evening in the Västra Hamnen district of Malmö. A nurse living in the area tried to help the shot man together with two neighbors.
Panic broke out when the shots were fired. Several residents heard two to three shots and screams. Susanne, who works as a nurse, rushed barefoot down to the street where the man was lying.
She and two neighbors helped put the man in a stable side position. He was later taken to the emergency room but his life could not be saved.
A man in his 30s has been detained on suspicion of murder. He was arrested in the area and had a weapon with him. Police examined bullet holes marked up to about 100 meters from the scene, including in an elevator door and on a gym.
Incident commander Fredrik Willander described the event as very serious but said it is seen as an isolated incident. Residents called for more cameras in the area.
