The Seattle Mariners defeated the Baltimore Orioles 3-0 on Thursday afternoon at T-Mobile Park to take the series two games to one.
Bryan Woo delivered seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts to lead the Mariners to victory. He allowed just three hits and walked one after receiving new cleats from patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital.
The Mariners scored all three runs in the first inning. Josh Naylor singled and advanced on an error, Cole Young drove in a run with a double, and Colt Emerson added a two-run single.
Shane Baz took the loss for Baltimore after surrendering three runs in the first inning. He allowed no hits over the next six innings.
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz praised Baz’s rebound and noted the team’s solid at-bats despite the shutout loss.
