Natembeya and Sifuna announce political alliance for 2027

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna have rallied their supporters to organize a public rally and declare they are on the right political path ahead of the 2027 elections. This move highlights their political collaboration against the current administration. Natembeya announced this via his official Facebook page.

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna demonstrated their political unity through a photo and statement posted by Natembeya on his Facebook page on Thursday, January 29, 2026. In the message, Natembeya assured supporters that he and Sifuna remain politically strong and are on the correct path.

The rally was held approximately six months after Sifuna publicly stated that no one could block his cooperation with Natembeya. This followed a women's empowerment event organized by Saboti MP Caleb Amisi on Sunday, August 3, 2025. At the time, Sifuna said he had informed Natembeya of his presence in Trans Nzoia and was ready to collaborate with any leader sharing similar visions.

According to Sifuna, he and Natembeya share a vision to ensure the current administration is not re-elected. He emphasized that as long as Natembeya remains committed to this goal, there is no barrier to their partnership. “I called the governor and he knew I was here in Trans Nzoia. All people who will help us take Ruto home are our partners. Removing Ruto from power is a national project. My brother Natembeya, no one will stop you from talking to me,” Sifuna said.

This alliance signals a new direction in Kenya's opposition politics ahead of the 2027 elections, where they are rallying supporters to work together against President William Ruto.
