Oliver Bearman has said he entered his rookie Formula 1 season with the wrong mindset, which contributed to a challenging Australian Grand Prix in 2025.
The British driver, who joined Haas after a strong debut with Ferrari, crashed during the first practice session at Albert Park. He then spun into the gravel in the third session and started the race from the pit lane before finishing 14th.
Bearman reflected on the weekend during an episode of F1 Off The Grid. "That weekend in general was a very tough one," he said. "I probably entered the weekend with the wrong mindset. On top of that, we had a car which was not the most compliant. It was a really bad start."
He later recorded a fourth-place finish in Mexico, matching the team's best result that year. Bearman ended the season 13th in the drivers' championship with 41 points, ahead of teammate Esteban Ocon who placed 15th with 38 points.
