One person has died and four other women have been injured, two of them seriously, after being hit by a waste collection truck this Sunday on Navarrería Street in Pamplona.
The accident occurred around 15:45 on the slope descending from the cathedral. According to the Municipal Police's initial hypothesis, the truck lost control due to a brake system failure.
One person died at the scene. Two women aged 38 and 30 suffered polytrauma and underwent surgery in the ICU at Hospital Universitario de Navarra with a serious prognosis. Two others, aged 26 and 29, suffered minor trauma and multiple contusions.
Emergency services transferred the injured and several people received attention for anxiety crises. The area was cordoned off by the Municipal Police and the Foral Police while the incident is investigated.
