Peacock has ordered a straight-to-series adaptation of Matt Dinniman's Dungeon Crawler Carl books. The project is being developed by Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door and Universal Global Television.
Matt Dinniman announced the news on Instagram, where he serves as co-executive producer. "Surprise! I'm happy to announce that our friends at Peacock have officially greenlit the 'Dungeon Crawler Carl' television series!" he wrote.
The series will follow the title character and his ex-girlfriend's cat, Princess Donut, as they compete in a dungeon crawl for an intergalactic reality show. Dinniman noted that he, Chris Yost, and MacFarlane's team at Fuzzy Door are excited to begin work.
The book series includes eight installments so far, with the latest released on May 12, 2026. Two additional sequels are planned. Dinniman said more details will come in the coming weeks, including a panel at SDCC.
