Phil Mickelson's membership at The Farms Golf Club in San Diego has been revoked following allegations of inappropriate contact with a female employee.
The accusation involves nonconsensual physical contact earlier this year. According to Golf Digest, Mickelson approached the staffer before a round of golf. The employee rejected the advances and reported the incident to management.
The club reviewed the matter, confronted Mickelson during his round and asked him to leave the property. He complied before finishing his round. The Farms Golf Club issued a statement confirming that a member had been removed after an employee report of misconduct but did not name Mickelson.
A Mickelson spokesperson said any misunderstanding has been cleared up. Mickelson is currently on leave from professional golf to attend to a family health matter. He is 55 and missed both the Masters and PGA Championship this year.
