Planning Minister Ahmed Rostom held a high-level meeting with leaders from national banks and fintech companies to strengthen Egypt’s electronic payments system.
The meeting was attended by Ashraf Negm, vice chairperson and managing director of the National Investment Bank; Osama Saleh, chairperson of Ayady for Investment and Development; Rafeh Saleh, CEO of the entrepreneurship sector at NI Capital; Hazem Saafan, chairperson of Sahl Electronic Payments; and Heba Zaki, director of the Egypt Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre.
Discussions focused on expanding cooperation to improve public service efficiency and citizens’ living standards through electronic payments. The talks also covered National Investment Bank projects and efforts to bolster the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem.
Rostom stressed that digital transformation is a central pillar of Egypt’s sustainable development agenda and highlighted the value of private-sector partnerships. Company representatives reaffirmed their commitment to innovative solutions that support financial inclusion.
