Police have arrested four suspects in the robbery with violence and murder of Dimaris Isni Sitio (60) in Pekanbaru. One suspect is the victim's son-in-law, motivated by resentment and desire to seize assets. The victim was found dead on April 29, 2026.
Pekanbaru City Police Chief, Kombes Polisi Muharman Arta, said the four suspects were arrested at different locations, including Binjai in North Sumatra and Central Aceh. The mastermind, initialed AF, is the victim's son-in-law, assisted by SL, E, and L. "Four suspects have been secured," Muharman stated.
The victim was found face down in her kitchen in Rumbai District on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, with facial injuries and bleeding. Police seized evidence including gold jewelry, mobile phones, a laptop, and foreign currency. Preliminary motives include resentment from frequent scoldings and desire to control the victim's assets.
Polda Riau's Criminal Investigation Director, Komisaris Besar Polisi Hasyim, stated the suspects initially planned theft but expanded to murdering four people in the house, including the husband and two children. "Initial plan was to steal, but it developed to kill four people," Hasyim explained. Only the victim was home at the time.
The suspects had surveilled the house and stolen Rp4 million there on April 8, 2026. The victim was beaten with a blunt object prepared in advance, and her body dragged to the bathroom. Police are investigating possible drug influence and searching for the wooden object used.
