Texas Rangers starter Nathan Eovaldi was scratched from his scheduled outing against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday due to left side tightness. Manager Skip Schumaker announced the decision before the game in Arlington. The team awaits scan results to determine the severity of the injury.
Eovaldi woke up with discomfort and underwent imaging before arriving at the ballpark. Schumaker noted that it did not seem wise to have him pitch and added that more details would come after the game. The Rangers planned a bullpen day with Jakob Junis starting but limited to no more than two innings.
