Appearing on TF1 Tuesday evening, Raphaël Glucksmann announced he is giving himself three months to decide whether to run for president in 2027.
The European deputy said he will travel across the country to promote his ideas and attempt to unite the non-Mélenchon left by the end of August. « I will not be one more candidate in the democratic left space », he stated.
He described Jean-Luc Mélenchon as an « electoral agent » of the Rassemblement national, arguing that « the social-democrat space is the only one that can defeat the far right in 2027 ». Mélenchon declared his candidacy on the same program in early May.
Manuel Bompard, national coordinator of La France insoumise, responded on X criticizing the remarks. Glucksmann plans a meeting in Aubervilliers on June 13 and releases a 200-page book titled Nous avons encore envie on Thursday.
