King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in Stockholm on Saturday with a service, rowing, procession and concert.
The celebrations began with a thanksgiving service in the Palace Church attended by the entire royal family except Princess Estelle. One-year-old Princess Ines babbled happily during the service before being led out.
After lunch at the palace featuring fried perch and rhubarb mousse, the royal couple rowed across Stockholm's waters aboard the barge Vasaorden. This was followed by a horse-drawn carriage procession through central Stockholm to Kungsträdgården where a concert was held.
Among the spectators were pensioners who had travelled far to see the couple. A horse fell during the procession. The festivities conclude with a concert at the Royal Opera. Norway's royal couple attended parts of the event.
