The prime minister took part today by video in the Progressive European Future event held at the European Parliament.
Pedro Sánchez spoke today at the meeting of European social democrats in Brussels. He stressed that every tolerated inequality is a wound in democracy that feeds the far right. The prime minister noted that reducing inequality defends democracy and that people’s lives cannot be allowed to depend on a techno-oligarchy. He also warned about fear as a political strategy and the need to restore trust in the future. Bernie Sanders also took part by video and cautioned about Trumpism and the threat to the democratic process. Iratxe García opened the sessions to reflect on how the progressive family must adapt.
