Sara Cox says she feels no nerves ahead of taking over the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show on 6 July. The 51-year-old broadcaster shared her confidence with the Sunday Times.
Cox, who hosted the station’s 4-7pm slot for six years, told the magazine she knows she can do a good job after 28 years in radio.
She plans to keep the listener call-ins that defined her afternoon show while adding some Hollywood guests. Early starts at 5am will mean bedtime by 9pm with her Kindle.
Cox declined to comment on the departure of Scott Mills, stating she knows no more than the public about the matter.
