Snap introduced its latest augmented reality eyewear on Tuesday, positioning the new Specs as a middle ground between full headsets and lighter AI glasses.
The device features high-resolution projections on the lenses for notifications, directions, and third-party apps. Users can interact with a built-in AI assistant that receives contextual data from onboard cameras.
The Specs cost $2,195 and provide four hours of battery life, with the charging case extending use throughout the day. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel emphasized comfort for all-day wear.
The company stated in a release that augmented reality offers the most natural computing experience. This launch targets a market currently led by Meta's smart glasses.
