The Southern Luzon Command has reported significant progress in its peace efforts, highlighted by CALABARZON's declaration as a Stable Internal Peace and Security region on June 12.
The Southern Luzon Command marked major advances after CALABARZON received SIPS status amid a decline in communist insurgency. Provinces including Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and the Bicol Region are advancing toward the same designation.
Lt. Gen. Cerilo Balaoro Jr. credited the dismantling of six New People’s Army sub-regional committees and one horizontal platoon. He also noted the reintegration of 1,673 former rebels via the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program.
SolCom marked its 39th anniversary on June 26. Balaoro emphasized ongoing work through the Road to Peace in Southern Luzon and programs such as Joint Task Force Kapit Bisig and YES INSPIRE.
