Higher temperatures are expected from Thursday in Götaland and Svealand with up to 28 degrees in Halland and Bohuslän.
SMHI reports that temperatures will rise overall in the coming days. In Halland and Bohuslän daytime temperatures may reach 26–28 degrees while the west coast and Skåne will see between 22 and 28 degrees.
Meteorologist Kristin Sahlström says it is not impossible to speak of a heatwave if temperatures stay above 25 degrees for at least five consecutive days. Torbjörn Simann at SMHI states that many places will reach 20–25 degrees already on Thursday afternoon.
Saturday will be sunny and warm in most parts of the country except western Norrland where rain may occur. From Sunday there is a risk of heavier showers in Svealand and Götaland but with continued high temperatures.
