Producers of the HBO Max series The Pitt removed a planned fight scene from the eleventh episode of season 2 following recent killings. The change was made to avoid appearing heavy-handed amid real-world tensions.
The episode features ICE agents bringing an injured Latina woman to the emergency room. This leads to tension and the arrest of Nurse Jesse, played by Ned Brower. Noah Wyle, who stars in and produces the series, said the original scene included an on-screen fight with officers. The sequence was cut after the killings of Renée Good and Alex Pretti. Creator R. Scott Gemmill and producer John Wells emphasized presenting the storyline neutrally. They described it as a Rorschach test that lets viewers form their own conclusions without preaching.
