Former Sweden women's national team head coach Ulf Lundberg has agreed to join the PWHL expansion team San Jose as an assistant coach. The move comes ahead of the club's first season in the league.
Ulf Lundberg will serve as assistant coach for the Professional Women's Hockey League team San Jose starting in the 2026/27 season. The club announced that he joins Jessica Turi on the staff under head coach and general manager Troy Ryan.
Lundberg spent the last six seasons as head coach of Sweden's women's national team, known as Tre Kronor dam. During that time the team reached the Olympic semifinal in Milan earlier this year. Erika Holst has since been named his successor.
Troy Ryan welcomed the addition. "Uffe is a strong tactical thinker with a modern view of the game," Ryan said on the club's website.
