Woman sentenced to 18 years for dynamite attack on ex-boyfriend

A New York woman has been sentenced to 18 years in prison after throwing a lit stick of dynamite at her former boyfriend while he slept. The victim lost his hand and part of his arm in the 2024 explosion.

Keyonna Waddell, 35, received the sentence on Wednesday in Suffolk County along with five years of post-release supervision. She was convicted of assault and criminal possession of a weapon after the March 22, 2024, incident in which she threw the explosive at the man's Long Island apartment following an argument.
