The Pittsburgh Steelers signed running back Rico Dowdle this offseason to replace Kenneth Gainwell. Analyst Adam Schein called the move the most underrated by any team.
The Pittsburgh Steelers lost Kenneth Gainwell, their 2025 team MVP who led the team in catches last season. They replaced him by signing Rico Dowdle, who rushed for 1,076 yards and six touchdowns in 17 games with the Carolina Panthers.
Adam Schein said on his Schein Time show, “I love Rico Dowdle. I thought that was the most underrated move by any team this offseason. He’s a three-down back, and Mike McCarthy loves him.” Dowdle spent his first five NFL seasons with the Dallas Cowboys under McCarthy.
Dowdle is expected to share the backfield with Jaylen Warren. He has experience in McCarthy’s offense and could provide a strong one-two punch for the Steelers.
