أتمت شرطة أديس أبابا الترتيبات الأمنية اللازمة لأيام الانتخابات وما بعدها، حيث نفذ المسؤولون خططاً مشتركة لضمان نجاح العملية دون أي معوقات.

استعرضت شرطة أديس أبابا المهام السابقة للانتخابات خلال منتدى، وأكدت جاهزية الخطط الأمنية المشتركة. وصرح الفريق أصرات دينيرو بأن أمن الانتخابات يتطلب حذراً خاصاً، وحث على سرعة إنجاز أي مهام متبقية. وصرحت ليديا جيرما، رئيسة مكتب السلام والأمن في المدينة، بأن العمل الأمني يجب أن يحمي المجتمع ويتصدى للقوى المناهضة للسلام، داعية إلى تعزيز التنسيق مع المدن الفرعية التابعة لمدينة شيغر. كما طُلب من السكان الإبلاغ عن أي مواد مشبوهة عبر الخطوط المجانية 990 و991 و987 و816 أو أرقام المكاتب المحددة.
