On July 21, 2026, Deezer released a statement indicating that AI-generated tracks reached 50 percent of daily uploads. Some 90,000 tracks were streamed in June, representing nearly half of all new songs.
The platform will remove AI tracks used for fraudulent streams as well as those not listened to for six months or more. “We are taking additional measures to protect the rights of artists and songwriters,” said Alexis Lanternier, Deezer’s general president.
In 2025, Deezer was the first to detect and exclude AI music from recommendations with a tool that is 98 percent reliable. More than 13.4 million AI tracks were flagged that year. Spotify also launched initiatives to encourage transparency on AI use.
