FC Bayern Munich announced on April 10 that it will travel to South Korea for a preseason exhibition match against Jeju SK FC of K League 1. The game will take place on August 4 at Jeju World Cup Stadium on southern Jeju Island as part of the Bundesliga club's 10th "Audi Summer Tour," ahead of a match in Hong Kong on August 7. The team will hold an open training session the day before the Jeju fixture.
Jeju SK FC stated that further details, including ticket sales, await final approval from the Korea Football Association. This visit is Bayern's second to South Korea; in August 2024, they beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Seoul World Cup Stadium.
Jeju SK FC CEO Jo Ja-ryong expressed excitement, saying, "I think there is no limit to the value that football can bring... I hope that this match will provide Jeju residents and football fans across the country with an unforgettable experience."
Rouven Kasper, Bayern's board member for marketing and sales, called the club a "pioneering force" in German football's internationalization. He added, "We are at home in Munich, and at the same time, keep our fans and partners all over the world in mind. Around a billion people follow FC Bayern, a good half of whom are from Asia."
