President-elect Abelardo De la Espriella will lead his first cabinet meeting on Friday in Barranquilla with the 11 ministers designated so far.
The meeting aims to advance coordination among the portfolios and define the first work lines of the incoming government ahead of the new presidential term starting on August 7.
The designated ministers include Viviane Morales for Education, Elsa Noguera for Transport, Juliana Gutiérrez for Sport, Iván Cancino for Justice, Mauricio Gómez Amín for Industry Commerce and Tourism, Jaime Beltrán for Housing, Rodrigo Lara for Interior, Miguel Gómez for Finance, Fabio Arjona Hincapié for Environment, Jorge Eduardo Mora López for Defense and Omar Bula Escobar for Foreign Relations.
This session will close a week of transition activities that included the meeting with the Board of Directors of the Banco de la República and the encounter with Japanese ambassador Shimizu Toru to strengthen bilateral relations.
