Djurgårdens IF completed the signing of forward Sebastian Hartmann from Timrå IK on Monday. The 32-year-old agreed to a three-year contract after requesting an early exit from his previous deal.

Hartmann had two years remaining on his Timrå contract. Timrå confirmed the early termination with a third party involved in the deal. The club noted that the move allows it to receive compensation while retaining enough forwards on its roster.

Djurgården sport chief Marcus Due-Boje said the addition fits a need for a physical right winger with SHL experience. Hartmann expressed interest in joining the club's push to reclaim top status in Swedish hockey. He previously played one junior season with Djurgården and is originally from the Uppsala area.

The transfer came on the same day Djurgården announced the signing of Noel Gunler. Hartmann has recorded 111 points in 316 SHL games and has appeared in 24 games for the Swedish national team.
