Duelo kicks off Gravedad Tour in 25 US cities

Mexican norteño group Duelo begins its Gravedad Tour on May 1 at the Freeman Coliseum in San Antonio, Texas, covering 25 cities across the United States until November 28. The tour, promoted by Live Nation, includes an extra date in Houston due to strong demand. The band recently topped the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart with its new single.

Duelo, founded in 1996 in Roma, Texas by vocalist Oscar Iván Treviño, starts its first tour with Live Nation promoter this Friday. The Gravedad Tour will visit cities in California, Florida, Nevada, Tennessee, North Carolina, Arizona, Illinois and Texas. A third show was added at the Toyota Center in Houston after tickets sold out quickly, Treviño told Billboard Español. He described partnering with Live Nation as a source of pride for the group after two and a half decades in the industry. In January, Duelo signed with Warner Music México following over a decade as an independent act. That month, they released 'Te Cura El Tiempo,' which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Regional Mexican Airplay chart dated April 24—their fifth chart-topper. The group plans to drop its first album under the label by the end of May. Treviño highlighted norteño music's enduring role in regional Mexican genres, citing influences like Ramón Ayala and peers such as Intocable and Grupo Frontera. 'There’s an opportunity to grow within the genre. It’s a matter of working hard,' he said. The tour also features Mexican stops including Palenque de Aguascalientes on May 4 and Arena Ciudad de México on October 20. Tickets are available on the band's official website.
